Angelo Haramis always had a passion for bikes, but it wasn’t until he closed his business in the tool and die industry and had time to learn about bike maintenance and repair that he considered turning his hobby into a viable career. “I was building bikes up in my shed,” Angelo remembers of that time. “I was finding bikes and frames online, buying parts, building them up and selling them.”

After honing his skills over a few years, Angelo set his sights on opening a shop on the bustling Bloorcourt strip. “I would drive down to this area and I would see the bikes all over the balconies and locked up on the street,” he says. “I always used to say to myself ‘this would be a great area to open up a bike shop.’”

Toronto Bike Repair started up in November 2014 on Bloor at Dovercourt , just as Torontonians were packing their bikes away for the winter. It was puzzling timing for some but a purposeful move on Angelo’s part. “I figured I’ll ease into spring and learn about the business.” This winter period gave him the opportunity to settle into the neighbourhood and understand his customers' needs. “When I first opened up I was selling higher-end bikes but slowly, as time went by, I saw that people wanted the old vintage bikes,” he recalls. Toronto Bike Repair has since become a Bloorcourt destination for lovingly restored yet affordable vintage bikes.

    I've bought a couple of vintage bikes from here. Excellent service and tuning. Prices were very reasonable compared to other shops I've been to.

    Ang is always willing to help to the best of his abilities and his assistants are always cheerful and helpful. I once had 11 flats in 6 months and he has always dealt with me with speed and a smiling face that you can trust. He has competitive prices and gives great cycling advice. It's also a friendly space that you can just drop into and say hello. I recommend him to everyone I meet because I have gotten the best service and best prices from him.

    Best Bike Repair in the City

    Ang definitely runs the best bike shop in the City! His value, service, & honesty are unparalleled. I have to say with every tune-up and repair Ang has listened to my requests as a customer and explained a great deal to me about bikes, which other bike shops don't do. I especially love that he incorporates used bike parts that work like new for great value! I wouldn't refer my friends and colleagues anywhere else! Go here.

    Best service in the city! Ange has a true passion for bikes. I found exactly what I was looking for and Ange tuned it to perfection in no time! There were some rusty parts and he made them look like brand new. Highly recommend his shop! Thank you Ange!

    By far, the best vintage/used bikes and bike repair shop in the city. The attention to detail and customer service always exceeds my expectations. I bought a bike there last year and has been smooth riding ever since.

    One of the Best

    After visiting bike shops around the west-end I soon became frustrated by the very poor service from numerous shops. I walked in and was greeted by a very nice gentleman named Ang, the owner. The man will go out of his way to ensure you are completely satisfied. I went in to get my bike repair after my back rim became damaged. Not only was the service fast but the price was much better compared to other shops. I felt reassured if there was ever a problem Ang would be happy to check the bike.A+++
