Outstanding from start to finish. Colleen, the coordinator, made us feel so comfortable and confident in our choices when we met with her. The day of the party, we arrived to find every detail taken care of exactly to our request. The staff of servers were extremely friendly and professional, identifying all of our needs and making us and all of our guests feel special. Chef Roberto served an extraordinary antipasto platter and prime rib dinner that the guests are still raving about.
Attended fundraiser there today, that part of the event was well done and enjoyable. The service we received from Angela N (tattoo on her upper right arm) was appalling. I noticed another patron was eating wings so asked if I could have an order even though they were not listed on the menu. Angela pulled a face and gve the impression it was a lot of trouble so I said I would have wings if they had them, fish and chips otherwise. I received fish and chips and found them very greasy and hours later I am regretting eating them. After I received my meal we noticed others being served wings! When our sweet waitress brought the bill it was requested that she bring separate bills for the fellow who was sitting with us. He had requested separate bill when he ordered. Angela again pulled a nasty face, snatched the bill off the table and stomped away. She returned with two separate bills and slammed them down on the table. Seeing as the table was metal I am hoping the sourpuss hurt her hand. All things said, it was nice of Terra Cotta Inn to be the venue for the fundraiser, but as a Georgetown local I will take my money elsewhere for nights out.
We've been there several times over the years and always enjoyed the place. We went with the specials today, and that was our mistake. The fish had an odd herb on it and when we asked what it was the waitress smiled and said, "they don't tell me those kinds of things." The veal chop sat atop a pile of soupy mashed potatoes and had a sauce or thin gravy that made them even soupier. Both were served with almost raw veggies. We were not impressed and aren't sure if we'll return. On top of that the special was way, way overpriced.
We have come to this restaurant several times now and never been disapppointed. The appetizers we have tried a few delicous, liver is the best #1, steak is good too as well as desserts. The service is always attentive but not overwhelming. Never waiting for be seated and the food comes out in a timely manner. The wine we have never been disappointed. We have brought family & friends and will continue to do so. Plus the scenry is so beautiful.
Then evening started off shakey with a snobbish curly haired waitress, who brought us the wrong drinks and appetizers. The main dish was amazing
Have frequented this establishment on a couple of occasions based on the recommendation of close friends. Found the ambiance and setting to be quite pleasing, but was extremely disappointed in the food quality and the service. The mediocre (at best) dishes at exorbanent prices are not worth wasting the 2-3 hours that it will take you to receive your meal. Last time we visited for a drink and some simple nachos. It took almost an hour for the waitress to bring us a plate of Tostito's with a scattering of chopped tomatoes and wilted lettuce (my wife had to ask for a napkin). Couldn't believe some of the other positive reviews that I read here. I have never written a restaurant review in the past, but could not pass up exposing the truth about this over rated dining experience. I can say with absolute certainty that life is far too short to waste another minute or another dime at the Terra Cotta Inn.
Unfortunately, I cannot review the food as we did not have the opportunity to sample it. After having spoken to the hostess(?!?), who assured me that I could make a reservation (they had received several cancellations due to weather) , I was told that I could reserve a table for 8:00p.m., which was the last seating. I found this to be a bit odd as I had just been told that the kitchen would close at 8:00p.m. Accordingly, I assumed that they would keep the kitchen open to accommodate us. As we were en route and the weather had slowed us down a bit, I phoned promptly at 8:00 p.m. to assure the staff that we would be there shortly, only to be told that the kitchen was already closed. I stated that we had made a reservation for 8:00 p.m. and inquired as to why they had closed the kitchen. I was then told that they hadn't heard from me and had therefore closed the kitchen as they didn't know whether or not we were coming. Am I crazy, or had that not been the purpose of the reservation? It is obvious that the patronage of an individual is less important to the staff at this restaurant than is an early night.
The service was outstanding. The chef, Roberto was fantastic. The ambience memorable and the food 10++++. Highly recommend the Terra Cotta Inn Restaurant. I've had the pleasure of having a light salad lunch on the patio. Also a great experience.
The Calamari was served grilled in a balsamic vinaigrette sauce. It was very unique, and tasty! The inside restaurant is fabulous. The patio is absolutely gorgeous, and we are thinking about having our wedding there!
The food is fabulous! It's not on the menu, but the carpaccio is out of this world, and goes perfectly with a Caesar Salad or Mussels.
I found the prices a little high. The food was good and would consider going back in the future. If the prices were lower, I would consider making it my weekend spot for dining out.
My husband and I had our very small, quaint wedding reception at the Inn. I STILL have very fond memories of it to this day. We visit a couple of times a year and have never had a bad experience.
The waitress was fantastic. We had 11 people in our party and the waitress memorized our entire order. Not only the dish but all our special requests as well. Great service!!
My husband and I were married at Terra Cotta Inn on June 25, 2005. We would recommend this venue to anyone that is looking for a wedding location. The setting was amazing, the staff were fantastic and the food was perfect! Colleen and Roberto were so amazing in helping us get the wedding of our dreams!
The food, setting and service were all wonderful. The portion sizes were adequate and nothing was overly priced.
With the breathtaking scenery outside and the charming ambience inside, topped off with the most tantalizing meal I have ever had, not to mention the great service, dining at Terra Cotta proves to be the most pleasurable experience I have ever had. Will I go again, most definitely. Break free folks, out of the doldrums of the city, and escape to a world of enchantment.
this is an amazing restaurnat anybody that does not give this place a 10 is just a plain old cranky fart that should be in a group home no pleasing these people they should not be allowed to give their opinions
The food is absolutely to die for..recommend to make a reservation for the weedends to guarantee a spot.
It was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere, the food, the wine, the company. I would definately reccommend this lovely Inn to anyone visiting, or driving thru Georgetown.
The wine was warm, server indicated it was kept in kitchen.?? Brought a cooler to lower temp. Poor service by inexperienced waiter. This was in dining room. Have ahd good experience in pub and deck area
