would not take my order because of their mistake last time two hours late called to cancel told Darrell to tell the delivery driver
Picked up veg fried rice & veg lo mien $14. 2nd time this month that I have ordered these dishes from here & both time the same results: GROSS! Rice is dry & so overpowered with msg I could taste it. Noodles are very oily & have no flavor. Disgusting! Not many veggies. The lady at the counter (owner) is rude. She would only give me 2 soy sauce packets with my meal & she told me I have to buy add’l packets at 10 for $1! Oh & don't even bother asking for plum sauce unless you order an eggroll
My boyfriend and I ordered from China Garden last night, hoping that the reviews online would be true and we would be able to satisfy our craving for good Chinese food. To our dismay, the food took over an hour to be delivered, and when we opened the package we were incredibly disappointed. Everything was incredibly salty and goopy, and the General Tao chicken smelled like something akin to McDonalds chicken nuggets. We ate anyways because we had already paid and didn't want to waste money, but after our meal both of us had headaches, and we started feeling dehydrated and overly warm: all symptoms that I have come to associate with MSG ingestion. Long story short, we are definitely never ordering from here again! We also realized after ordering that all the positive online reviews are from the same person.
I thought I had called the Chinese take-out restaurant down the street--so it was my mistake. I think the chicken balls and spring roll were inedible due to being deep fried in old, rancid oil. The taste was horrible. We couldn't eat them. The sweet and sour sauce had no taste what so ever. The Steak Kew had too much Worcestershire in the sauce. Egg rolls were half the size I am used to receiving, but tasted fine. The Beef Egg Foo Young had large, thin, mushy beef slices that creeped us out, and the beef sauce had a globby jelly consistency. So gross. The Guy Ding was excellent with large chicken pieces and fresh veggies. The delivery man arrived within a half hour, and the food was piping hot. The Asian lady who took my order was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we had to throw out most of the leftovers. A waste of $53.00
Ive tried China Garden a few times and overall, here is my findings: the pad thai was rather bland compared to any of the pad thai's found elsewhere in London. the green curry chicken however was fantastic and fully recommend to anyone that likes some good spiceyness! on the other hand the kung pao chicken was incredibly disappointing. zero spice, and a completely odd mix of vegetables. the last thing I'll mention is that when ordering pickup, give them an additional 10 minutes on top of the time they tell you because every single time Ive ordered from them Ive had to wait for my food to finish preparation on my pickup.
Our favourite restaurant, always friendly, food is always good, service is usually fast...a little slow on New Years Eve, but reasonable. Our favourite is the pad thai, and the beef teriyaki appetizer. This restaurant has delivered to us across town in the middle of the night near closing when other restaurants would no longer take delivery orders, has never sent out bad or cold food and almost always arrives earlier than they estimate. Food is a good value for the money and I would reccomend them to anyone.
China Garden has the best chinese food in London. My family has gone to numerous chinese food restaurants over the years, but now we've found the standard for quality that has yet to be met by any other restaurant. Try the sesame beef and the cantonese chow mein.
one day i went to the china garden with some friends. we all love chinese food, though this was dampered by seeing the back kitchen while picking up the food. lets face it no one really wants to see how their food, especially fast food is made
