Fiction and non-fiction, hardcovers and paperbacks, DVDs and Blu-rays: you’ll find all of these and much more at Re: Reading, Christopher Sheedy’s dream-made-reality.
"I launched Re: Reading in April of 2009, right in the middle of a recession," Christopher says. "To me, it’s all about supplying great books at a great price, to put them in the hands of people who might not have had the chance to read them otherwise. And there’s also the whole ‘I think people should read all the time’ thing, of course," he adds, smiling.
The idea of opening a store specializing in used books was born out of Christopher’s passion for, and knowledge of, literature as well as a long-time dream of his to open such a business when he reached retirement. "I’ve been a customer of used books stores for my whole life, and I wanted to open one when I retired. In 2008, however, I became unhappy with my work, and my wife told me one day ‘Don’t wait until retirement, open your store now’. I followed her advice, and here I am. Since my career was in marketing and customer service, I had a great skillset to back me up.’’
