Before opening up her wildly successful salon, Grateful Head, owner Lysa Fina learned the art of hairdressing from her dad, an experienced barber from Italy who would take his daughter into work with him when she was just 12 years old. “I feel like I’m preserving a bit of hair dressing culture,” says Lysa. “I grew up in his hair salon, so it’s what I know.”
The work ethic Lysa’s father instilled in her certainly helps in running her two salons, located on Dundas Street West and Roncesvalles Avenue, but the learning process has never stopped for the stylist. “We can never get enough education,” she says, adding that the stylists are constantly showing their coworkers new techniques they’ve picked up along the way.
The companionship among the expert team means that clientele can expect a friendly and welcoming environment when they come to Grateful Head for a haircut, colour, up-do or any of the other services on the menu.
Friendly staff, amazing talent here. I've had a problem with getting my hair just right, but after I started seeing Stacey 2 years ago, I've never gone anywhere else.
