Angela Binnie, owner of Raindrop’s Cupcakes, along with Remaz Badawi, take cupcakes to a whole new level. One of her most memorable pride-and-joy efforts was for a thoracic surgeon. “I did a heart,” Angela says, “like an actual heart with the chambers and … it had an LVAD tube going out of it.” You can find a photo of the infamous "heart cupcake" as well as many other of Angela's sweet creations on Raindrop’s Facebook page.
One can’t help but “ooh” and “aah” over the many delicious designs Angela has baked up since she opened Raindrop’sCupcakes in 2012. From sports cupcakes with Canadian NHL teams on them — and no, she has no personal preference for any hockey team — to cupcakes featuring Super Mario Bros figures and even blowfish cupcakes, spikes and all. There’s no design that’s too difficult or challenging for Angela, although she does draw the line at X-rated desserts. “I have been asked to do a couple of not-so-G-rated cupcakes and I don’t do that, unfortunately,” she says.
