Gavin Brauer and Adam Abramowicz founded KindHuman as an extension of their shared passion for cycling. As the name suggests, the duo are committed to making the often intimidating cycling world more accessible to everyone. “It’s a flagship store and an environment to bring the KindHuman brand to life,” says Gavin of their custom shop, which opened in the Avenue Road area in 2013.
Adam, a cycling industry designer, created the brand and teamed up with Gavin, who was looking to start up a sporting goods business. Through their website, they’ve had many international orders from riders as far away as Singapore, Australia and the U.K.
So, what sets KindHuman apart? “Every bike is custom built so you’re able to get exactly what you want out of the bike,” explains Gavin. “We build your bike to meet your personal needs around performance, size and budget. You get the wheels you want, the right handlebar size, your desired gearing, etc. At KindHuman you get a lot more bike for your money.” There’s also the option of choosing various quality levels and custom sizing.
“And by having daily interactions with cyclists, it helps us to design better products,” he adds.
