Terrible service and poor food quality. Oily noodles. Once you get your bill they literally ask you to leave. I spent $200.00 in hour and half for mostly lousy food and service.
My son and I ordered takeout from Congee Queen this evening. Highlights.... Lemon Chicken. My son's favourite... as he said "Dad, you could put this sauce on anything". Ice cream? "Yes". Another highlight was the spicy squid (ordered based on a recommendation of other reviewers). Calamari on steroids (a good thing, but could use a bit more heat / spice). BBQ Pork is also outstanding. The mixed veg in garlic sauce is good also. The BBQ pork vermicelli could use a bit more heat, but it was also good.
Lowlights... Congee, I could be me, but I just don't get it. I liked the seafood in my Superbowl congee, but I doubt that I would order again.
Great prices. Large portions.
The dining room is too crowded, with a line up out the door.
Will definitely order there again. Our new "go to" restaurant for Asian cuisine in Don Mills.
Next time, we will try the BBQ duck.
