They've been feeding member's of my family for over 40 years and it's now my obvious go to - literally the best Chinese food in the city! They truly care and even make their own plum sauce! Every bite is incredible and the chicken balls actually have chicken in them unlike other restaurants... not gristle on your meat and no grease. You will not regret supporting this small family run business during these rough times
Ordered on line.....arrived...no order...showed my confirmation email ...still no food. New Years Eve. Nothing for dinner. Never use this restaurant!!!
fresh, delicious food. owner truly cares about her customers. they make their own plum sauce that is truly delicious (almost like a jam or chutney). I have never been disappointed.
Chicken balls are dry & just dough, no chicken....& I looked hard for some chicken. The sauce was straight fro a bottle. Soo Guy sauce was so thick I could use it as glue & very salty.
I included a special request in my order that was totally ignored.
The only bright spot was tge delivery was on time (1 hour) & he didn't get lost.
Avoid this (not)Chinese (not)food barely restaurant at all costs. If I could give ZERO stars,I would have.
I was first in this restaurant shortly after it first opened, back in the late '60s. I have lived and travelled in Canada extensively in the last 40+ years, and have experienced Chinese food from many, many different establishments, including several in Vancouver's 'ChinaTown' where some of the food is world renouned.
My experience with Shanghai Restaurant in London has been, in recent years, mostly take-out and delivery. The food is second to none I've had anywhere, and the service is excellent.
You don't stay in business as long as these folks have unless you're doing things right. This place does it right! You will not be disappointed.
Today was the first time ordering from here. I decided to check it out after reading some reviews, and it was great! I ordered at 10:30pm and got delivery. They said it would be about 45 minutes and were here right on time.
I was surprised at how inexpensive the food was! I ordered chicken wings, fried rice, lo mein, and a wonton soup, and it all came to less than $30. Definitely worth it!

Awesome food, and great service. The people there are very nice and make you feel very welcoming. I could eat their food everyday and not get tired of it, and it's not too pricey. I highly recommend it!
This is my favourite place in London for Chinese food, The food is hot and fresh. The atmosphere is run down but the food is great tasting and full of flavour. I would suggest anyone try this place.
I've been ordering take out from Shanghai for 5 years and it is by far and away the best Chinese food in London. The delivery service is always within the alloted time frame, the food is always hot and the order is always correct. I've only had my order messed up once in about 200 visits and they were prompt in correcting the problem at no charge. If you're looking for a quiet night in with some good food, order from Shanghai!

Ordered for delivery and they said it would be an hour. At an hour and 15 minutes I called to check and they said it wasn't even cooked yet and that it would be another 20-30 minutes. No phone call to tell me it would we delayed and no response to the delay other than "it's really busy, sorry". No matter how good the food is, you can't taste it if you don't get it. Won't order from there again.
My favorite Chinese food place in London. Food is always hot, excellent and fresh. Egg rolls are the absolute best in London. Go there and eat already!
We have been going there for a number of years and enjoy it each time. I am not sure how it stays in business mind you because there is never anyone in the dining room, must have a non stop delivery service? Great personal service in the dining room and the food is always wonderful. We have ordered through delivery in the past and the food is always hot when received and the order is always correct!
