While I found the classes given by Dogs In The Park to be average overall for pet dog owners, I was disappointed by the caliber of dogs their training program produced for the time, effort, and money long-time clients had invested. My greatest disappointment was in the lack of professionalism, which included complaining about students/clients publicly on facebook. With so much competition in Guelph and the surrounding areas, there are better options.
We are working with Sue, John and the team at Dogs in the Park to manage the behaviour of an aggressive terrier, starting with in-home consultation and leading up to the Good Dog Program. The excellent knowledge, skill, humour and patience of her team has been a huge help to us. We were at our wits end and they have shown us the light at the end of the tunnel...or leash. We are looking forward to moving up in the training classes once our young dog is ready to participate in group classes. Instead of worrying about our dog's behaviour, we are now having fun with our dog.
I would also highly recommend reading Sue's blog which is packed full of excellent information for all dog owners.
My service dog, new puppy and I spent the summer in Guelph attending classes at DITP's new facility on Massey Rd. We had an amazing time & learned a tremendous amount! We'd do it all over again!
I have known Dogs In The Park for over 10 years now...I started with them with my first dog, a hound-x...And have gone back here and there over the years. Sue helped me out with one of my Shepherds, and was a great shoulder to lean on with my Neopolitan Mastiff. Their new facility is really great.
Sue and the staff at Dogs in the Park took time to fully investigate my dog's unique behaviour and issues and work with my family to develop a plan that has worked thus far. My dog has stumped some of the most well-known behaviourists and trainers. Dogs in the Park have helped us to develop a plan to manage his behaviour while keeping everyone as safe as possible.

I have been to several different trainers to try to deal with my extremely reactive American Bulldog. Sue and the group at Dogs in the Park understood the breed, his drive and abilities, and provided a safe environment to use science based training methods proven to relieve his stress and anxiety in specific situations. The additional at home training, as well as addition group walks provided additional benefits to train your dog in more than on situation in order to teach them to be in a relaxed state and use their training in more than just the training ring.
