the food is amazing at the Sherwood - made inhouse not frozen! the service was great - I had the chicken taco salad and a bowl of their homemade soup which is to die for! for desert I had an old fashion vanilla milkshake topped with whip cream & a cherry :)
I LOVED their buffet!! Not huge choice, but more than adequate. The taste of the food was excellent and what I REALLY like is that coffee and dessert is included in the price!
Absolute Witch answered the phone and rudely said I really busy what do you want!!
The signs outside and notices in the menu go to great lengths to inform you of their 'famous' roast beef dinner, perhaps that's what I should have ordered. Fish and chips is obviously not their specialty, but you would expect that everything would be prepared with the same care. The fish was, well, okay, and there was enough of it, but the batter was like concrete. The chips? Listen up restaurant owners, nothing screams "CHEAP FROZEN!" like crinkle cut fries, just like in the freezer at the supermarket down the road. The multi-grain bun that came with it was rather dry, with the crust being a tooth-breaker. Just because you're attached to a motel doesn't mean that guests = hostages, you'll get more business at both ends if you keep to a higher standard.
The buffet was alright overall with fish being very good. The dessert was so...so. Some was fairly bland. Service very prompt and servers cleared dishes immediately. The decorum is dated and the place could use some redecorating. Price of food was good in terms of good value for the money.
Are food was wonderful .... everyone commented on food days after which is wonderful . How ever our waitress was so busy with other tables she did not do anything at ours..... We asked for refills got dirty look tryed to make conversation with her ... she rolled her eyes ..... i highly recommend to eat at the sherwood .... they just need to fire there servers!!!!
Had reservations in the buffet room.Got there and told we would be sitting about 30 meters away in the dining room. The food was very uninspiring-bland over cooked and cold. There wasn't much variety. My party made about three trips to buffet including dessert. The used dishes just piled up on the table and not removed. The waitress was invisible. No water or coffee refills nothing. My group all declared they would not return(ages 25 to 62).
It's been a while since we visited and we won't be back unless the whole restaurant is overhauled. The carpets are really grungy and the washrooms are dirty with tiles broken and wallpaper ripped. There was no change table and my granddaughter had to be changed on the washroom floor. Yuck!! The food was okay but they had packed too many people in - it was Mother's Day - and it was difficult to move around to see what was available. I didn't see any fresh fruit, yoghurt, muffins etc. which I usually enjoy at a brunch. The salads were okay but very bland. The bacon and French toast were newly cooked so I did have something quite enjoyable to eat. I didn't try the desserts but others in the party said that they were tasteless. Since we were a group of 11 it was very disappointing to spend so much money on such a disatisfying experience.
Food was over cooked and dried out the lasanga was the worst I have ever eaten. The fish was okay the vegs were dried out and the hot desert was nothing more than a runny apple crumble. later that evening we all felt sick. Dont go to eat at this place.
Server brought us our bill and we had not even eaten our meal yet. Fish was extremely greasy, and the corn was dried out, and there is nothing like a piece of the core of the lettuce that is brown in your salad.
i didnt enjoy eating the soup, it was cold and watery. The salad had a piece of hair, which made this visit bad. The french fries wasnt as bad as the others. But after this visit i don't think ill ever return.
We go to the Sherwood fairly often for breakfast, and my husband always orders the Tuck breakfast that he shares with the kids, and I always order the waffles. Waffles are a great price, are fluffy, big, delicious..I love them. The coffee is pretty good here. It's a good meal for a decent price and we always leave full and content. HOWEVER--they REALLY need to do something about their waitresses! Is it PAINFUL to smile? Maybe look at the customer when they're ordering? Is it against company policy to be POLITE? One waitress in particular I really believe has a face made of stone...and we seem to get her a lot. Really people, your tips will be MUCH BIGGER if you're FRIENDLY and COURTEOUS. They're lucky if we leave them 10% because of the service.
A good restaurant gone sadly downhill, judging by this visit. Soup was watery rather than creamy, served lukewarm and unable to soften the few flakes of cheddar sprinkled on top. Fish was underdone; the batter not even cooked through. Our server was somewhere between indifferent and downright surly. She did actually ask how the soup was - when the answer was "Kind of watery", she merely grunted softly and walked away. When my friend asked for a refill on his coffee, she brought the pot over. I set my empty mug next to his as it was being refilled, but she just walked away, apparently without noticing it. Between the food & the service this day; naw, ain't planning to return.
Service was great, warm smiles, fast with the coffee and refills too. Breakfast was exactly as ordered, quick and tasty. We will be back!
