When Margaret Flynn was a young girl in Wetaskiwin, her father would drive her into Edmonton once a week for dancing lessons. By the time she was 11, she was teaching the skills she learned to local kids in her own home. “Eventually, my dad just built me a studio in our basement,” Margaret says of her early days of teaching.
When Margaret and her family moved to Edmonton, she took her love of dance with her. In 1967, she opened up the Edmonton School of Ballet. From those humble beginnings in her basement studio, Margaret has become one of the most respected and well-known dance instructors in the province.
